The Ultra Connector is how an agent reaches Ultra. The local flavor runs on your machine with ultra start. The remote flavor runs in the cloud: point your agent at a URL. This page is the remote flavor. Governance, guardrails, and every tool call still show up in Ultra Hub. To install the local flavor, see Install Ultra.

When to use the remote flavor

Use the remote flavor for apps that run in the browser or the cloud, such as Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Microsoft Foundry.

Connect your agent

Every agent uses the same endpoint:
The first time your agent connects, it opens your browser to sign in to Ultra and approve the connection. Your workspace comes from your sign-in, so there’s nothing else to configure.
  1. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the endpoint URL, click Add, then Connect.
If Ultra’s tools don’t appear, reconnect the connector or restart Claude.
In ChatGPT on the web, add a custom MCP server and paste the endpoint URL. Where the option appears depends on your plan; see OpenAI’s guide to adding a custom MCP server.
Add Ultra to your VS Code mcp.json (see Configure Agents for its location), then reload the window:
Add Ultra to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then restart Cursor:
In your Foundry agent, add a remote MCP connector with the endpoint URL. If Ultra’s tools don’t appear after you sign in, reconnect it.
Copilot Chat and Teams use a Copilot Studio agent. To set up Ultra in Excel, you need to set up a declarative plugin. See Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Many apps let you add a custom MCP server or connector. Wherever you see that option, paste the endpoint URL and sign in to Ultra when prompted.
