For enterprise fleet deployment via Jamf Pro, see the MDM Deployment Guide. It covers zero-touch installation, deploy key authentication, and per-user identity resolution via SCIM.

Download Ultra

  1. Request access. We’ll email you when you’re approved.
  2. Sign in to Ultra Hub and open Settings > Downloads.
  3. Download and run the installer for your platform: .pkg on macOS, .msi on Windows. On Linux, extract the .tar.gz and move ultra into your PATH.
The same page has a prompt you can paste into an agent such as Claude Code or Cursor to install Ultra for you, plus the SHA-256 checksums for every download.

Verify Installation

After installing, open your AI agent and ask it to verify:
  • “Check your connection to Ultra”
  • “Run ultra doctor”
Your agent should confirm that Ultra is installed and running.

Installing with a Deploy Key

If your admin gave you a deploy key, hand it to the installer and your device links itself. No sign-in, and no ultra login or ultra link.
The macOS and Windows installers both ask for the key during setup: macOS on a step titled Ultra Enrollment, Windows on the first step of Ultra Setup.
  1. Enter your Work email. This is what attributes the device to you in Ultra
  2. Select Have a setup key? and paste the key into Setup code. Your admin may call it a deploy key; it is the same value and starts with dk_
  3. Click Continue
Choose Skip if you were not given a key. You can sign in through the browser instead the first time Ultra starts.
Your device links to the key’s workspace the first time Ultra starts. Already installed Ultra? Set the key afterwards and restart your AI agent, and Ultra picks it up on the next start. This reads the key from standard input, so it never lands in your shell history:
See Deploy Keys for the config file and managed preference options, plus the full reference.

Platform Support

After installing or upgrading Ultra, restart your MCP agent (e.g., quit and reopen Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.) for changes to take effect.
Ultra is distributed from a private repository. go install is not available. Use the installer from Ultra Hub or the install script.
